Our organization is dedicated to providing a safe and inviting environment through community partnerships and crime prevention.  We will strive to deliver superior services and instill the highest quality of life within our community.

2012 James Trudeau Award

Congratulations to Officer Jon Glader, the Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau's 2012 James Trudeau Award recipient. The James Trudeau Award is presented to a law enforcement officer in the LAYSB service area for their outstanding service to youth and demonstrate enthusiasm, leadership, generosity and service to youth above and beyond his/her job duties.

Officer Jon Glader has been a police officer with the Forest Lake Police Department for eight years and currently serves as the School Resource Officer to the Forest Lake High School.  He has served as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) since 2008 with over 50 evaluations and is a certified firearms instructor for handgun, patrol rifle, and shotgun. Officer Glader has received two awards from Mothers Against Drunk Driving and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award by the City of Forest Lake and Forest Lake High School.  He enjoys working closely with the community through the Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau, Forest Lake Area Schools, the Forest Lake Safety Camp, and many other community events and fundraisers.   

Before starting his career with Forest Lake, Officer Glader attended Alexandria Technical and Community College where he graduated, with honors, with his Associates of Applied Science degree.  He went on to complete his Bachelors of Police Science Degree at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and is currently working toward the completion of his Masters in Public Safety Administration at Saint Mary’s University.
